ERIE -- The Eisenhower girls soccer team suffered a 3-0 setback to first-place Seneca on Wednesday.
It was a defensive battle the entire game as neither team could get a shot to connect in the first half which ended in a 0-0 tie.
The Bobcats broke into the scoring column eight minutes into the second half when Maggie Maclaughlin found the back of the net to make it 1-0, and Seneca never looked back.
"It was a tough loss for the girls, but the score is no indication of how the girls played today," said Eisenhower head coach Ashley Elms. "They were relentless the entire game. They hustled and played with determination the entire game. I thought it was our best game so far. I thought they played their best game as a team.
"The amount of growth, confidence, improvement and heart was amazing, I could not be prouder of each and every girl on the team."
Eisenhower is back in action at 11 a.m. Saturday when it entertains Corry.
WARREN GIRLS FALL
The Warren girls soccer team faced a tough Harbor Creek squad and fell 8-1.
Senior captain Lani Wenzel found the back of the net with under four minutes remaining in the first half, unassisted from a free kick.
"The ladies played well against the tough Harbor Creek team," said head coach Teresa Abplanap.
Bella Campbell had 15 saves for the Lady Dragons, who host the Bradford Owls at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at War Memorial Field.
