EDINBORO -- Warren's girls volleyball team earned a Tuesday sweep of the General McLane Lancers, winning 25-12, 25-20, 25-20 in Region 4 play.
The Dragons made quick work in the first set, but the Lancers weren't going down without a fight.
Fourteen kills from Hailey Cabisca and 11 kills by Attie Corey set up by 28 Brynn Norris assists were too much for the home team to handle. Paiden Johnson recorded six aces with Malysia Sorensen adding in 12 digs. Peyton Cabisca had five digs herself as well as four kills. Norris notched six digs, Corey four blocks, and Julia Getner had three kills and three blocks in the victory.
The Lancers were victorious in junior varsity play, winning 25-4, 25-27, 15-9. Lexi Nuhfer had 13 assists; Kendall Skerda three kills and six digs; Kelsey Johnson five kills and five digs; Luci Salvatore four aces and four digs; Monica Malczyk three digs; and Taylor Swanson three kills, two blocks and two aces.
The Dragons look to keep the momentum going as they host Titusville on Thursday at 7:15 p.m. at Warren Area High School.
BOYS SOCCER
DRAGONS BLANK OIL CITY
OIL CITY -- Behind two goals and three assists from Trey Carrington, the Warren boys soccer team picked up a 5-0 Region 5 victory over Oil City.
The Dragons once again displayed solid ball control as they limited any sort of Oiler offensive opportunity, and capitalized when needed. Other goal scorers for Warren were James Chapman, Gabe Dougherty and Mason Warner. Eddie Abplanalp earned the shutout in goal.
The Dragons head to Bradford on Thursday to take on the Owls at 6:30 p.m.
