WARREN -- After a scoreless first half, Eisenhower, behind two goals by Kiera Cressley, defeated Northwestern 3-0 in Region 3 girls soccer Monday.

The day and site change to Warren's War Memorial Field seemed to fire up the Knights.

"The girls were so excited for a game under the lights, and it showed in their play," Eisenhower head coach Ashley Elms said. "They were aggressive from the start and their passing was outstanding."

After a scoreless first half, Eisenhower scored two quick goals to go up 2-0, on goals by Cressley and Grace Martin. Josie Elms had the assist on both goals.

"We made a couple of quick adjustments at halftime in our passing game, and it showed with Kiera scoring just 1:30 into the half," Coach Elms said.

Mady Lindberg sent a pass to Cressley who found the back of the net with four minutes remaining in the game to give the Knights some breathing room at 3-0.

Eisenhower was aggressive at the net, outshooting Northwestern 19-3 on goal.

Eisenhower improved to 11-5 on the season and is back in action Thursday when the Knights travel to Mercyhurst Prep.

CRESSLEY, RONDEAU SCORE

RUSSELL -- The Eisenhower girls soccer team played host to Corry on Saturday morning and came away with a hard fought 2-0 nonregion win.

Both teams played nearly 60 minutes of scoreless soccer until the Knights' Kiera Cressley connected midway through the second half to give the Knights a 1-0 lead.

Rosalie Rondeau gave Eisenhower some breathing room when she sent a shot into the net with a minute remaining to give the Knights a 2-0 lead, which held up for the final score.

The game featured outstanding goalie play by the Knights' Kylie Guiher as she continued her solid season.

But she wasn't alone.

"I thought our defense played well and our line play was solid as they pushed the Corry offense up and down the field and took away scoring opportunities," said Eisenhower head coach Ashley Elms.

Eisenhower outshot Corry 22-4.

"Offensively, we were strong," Elms said. "We just had difficulty getting a shot between the posts."
