NEWVILLE -- Warren's Emma Peterson was nothing short of impressive Saturday as she earned a 15th-place finish at the Pennsylvania Foundations Invitational held at Big Springs High School.
Competing against 218 other runners, Peterson ran a 19:57 in the 2A Division. Nina Woldt finished 52nd overall with a time of 21:30 "… which was a great time for a freshman and this being her first big varsity invite," according to head coach Michelle Johnson.
Leyton Salvatore finished 38th out of 282 runners with a 17:31, Cole Fitzgerald was 53rd with a 17:51 and Grayson Collopy 74th with an 18:10.
"Mason Smith continues to improve with every race and to show he's an asset to the team," Johnson added."
Big Springs High School is also the new location for the PIAA state cross country meet, where numerous Warren runners hope to return.
"Getting the kids on this course and to see some other great runners and teams in the state was extremely beneficial," Johnson said. "Now we know what to expect heading into the state meet."
