BRADFORD -- The Warren girls tennis team defeated Bradford 4-1 in nonleague action Thursday.
"Overall, this was a competitive match for us and we are happy to come out with our first win of the season," said head coach Thomas Pellegrino. "We were out a couple starters today so I am very pleased with how the girls stepped up and we were excited to see four new players get a varsity win this early in the season. We'll continue to improve and prepare for our match up with Cathedral Prep next Tuesday."
At first singles, Warren's Scotlynn Perry beat Jackie Sipko 6-2, 6-2. At second singles, the Dragons' Olivia Romanosky topped Brooke Kouidar 6-2, 6-1.
At first doubles, Laken Carroll and Caylin Warner beat Lilly Hawk and Kasey Poe 7-5, 6-2. Warren's final win came at second doubles where Lettie Christie and Evelyn Romanosky beat Elleina Smith and Roz Foster 5-7, 6-0, 10-7.
Bradford's Karmyn Vossler beat Carly Fitzsimmons 3-6, 7-5, 10-6 at third singles.
In jayvee action, Olivia Cressley and Hunter Fox were winners for Warren.
The Dragons now 1-1 on the season.
