Harbor Creek runs past Warren for 42-6 win

The Warren High boys football team dropped their first game of the season by a score of 42-6 Friday night against the visiting Harbor Creek Huskies.
It was Military Appreciation Night at War Memorial Field as veterans across the county were honored for their service and sacrifice. The Dragons also sported new camouflage jerseys, and a Presentation of Colors and veteran recognition was performed at halftime.
Tied at 0-0 after the first quarter, Harbor Creek had an offensive and defensive barrage for the final three quarters courtesy of Gavin Zillman. A senior at Harbor Creek, Zillman was voted District 10's top returning running back, and he proved just why that was true.
In the blink of an eye, Zillman scored four rushing touchdowns and had a fumble recovery for a touchdown. The Huskies were stout on defense all game as they had solid defensive stands, forced five turnovers, and did not let the Dragons find the endzone until 7:40 left in the game when Aiden Eger ran 37 yards for the touchdown. This was not enough to overcome the deficit, and the Huskies utilized the running clock to end the game.
The Dragons will have another tough matchup next Thursday as they travel to General McLane to take on the Lancers at 7 p.m.
