Shippee’s 81 earns Top 5 finish at General McLane Invite

CAMBRIDGE -- Kate Shippee fired an 81 on Wednesday, good for a 4th place individual finish out of 50 girls, helping the Warren’s Girls Golf Team to a 7th place finish out of 12 teams at Riverside Golf Course in the General McLane Invitational.
This was another long course measuring at 5,151 yards from the red tees and was complicated by tornado warnings and rain.
“Kate was able to get up and down and save par many times as her putting and chipping was stellar today,” said coach Scott Pearson. “Alyssa Reichle also had a nice round, having one of her best rounds of the year with a score of 116 as she continues to improve her play. In addition, we were able to get some of the newcomers some competition as well which should help them going forward."
The team competition was won by Ft. LeBoeuf, and the overall individual champion was Moira Erhartic of Fairview. The scoring for the Dragons was Shippee 81, Reichle 116, Emma Sproveri 142, Alyssa Goss 148, and Tia French 155. The Lady Dragon golf team will travel out of the region to compete in the Coudersport Invitational today.
