The Warren girls tennis team opened their season Wednesday as they hosted a very tough Fairview Tigers squad, falling 5-0.
"Going up against the reigning D10 champions is always a challenge," reported Warren head coach Thomas Pellegrino. "With a very young squad featuring five new starters and two more players making their varsity singles debuts, I thought we competed well and gained some valuable experience. The match gave us a good look at where we are currently and, more importantly, where we can continue to improve moving forward. We have a young team this season, with more than half of our players being first-year players who are new to the game. Our goal is to take the season match by match, focusing on getting better each week and continuing to develop as a team."
The Dragons will look to rebound as they hit the road tomorrow to take on the Bradford Owls at 3:30 p.m.
