The Warren girls volleyball team had an exciting victory Tuesday evening as it defeated Fort LeBoeuf 25-17, 25-15, 23-25, 25-21 at Warren Area High School.

The battle featured two top-10 Pennsylvania-ranked teams, but the Dragons took control early and found some rhythm as they won the first two sets. The Bison capitalized on numerous Warren unforced errors in the third set, and the fourth set had fans on the edge of their seats, and the Flannel Panel roaring.

Tied at 21-21, the Dragons rattled off four unanswered points to secure the victory.

Statistically for Warren, Attie Corey collected 14 kills, Hailey Cabisca had 13, Lara Peterson added 11 and Julia Getner chipped in six. Brynn Norris had 38 assists, Brooke Sherry had 13 digs and three aces, and Malysia Sorensen and Addison Ristau had 17 and 11 digs respectively.

"For the varsity, our offense definitely struggled at times against a very good FLB team," Warren head coach Mike Dolan said. "Hopefully we learned we need to stay aggressive and confident going forward in serve and receive as well as with our attacks.

"We did a nice job finishing the fourth set and Paiden Johnson gave us a huge spark from the service line in a couple of sets. Our back-row defense played well."

The Dragons next head to Erie High on Thursday to take on the Royals for a 6 p.m. junior varsity start with varsity to follow.
