The Warren girls tennis team secured a pair of 3-2 victories against St. Mary's and Elk County Catholic on Friday at Betts Park.
In the opening match, Warren edged St. Mary's courtesy of a win by Scotlynn Perry in first singles over Pilar Pfoutz 6-1, 7-6, then a sweep of doubles competition. In first doubles, Jade Stewart and Laken Carroll defeated Lucia Bonanno and Abigail D'Amore 6-0, 6-0, then Laelah Mueller and Caylin Warner won 6-0, 6-0 over Jocelyn Auman and Shaniya Ernieta to secure the win.
Anna Porkolab defeated Warren's Olivia Romanosky in second singles 6-0, 6-3, while Claire Colosimo defeated Carly Fitzsimmons 7-6, 6-0 in third singles.
MATCH 2
Perry continued her strong day in the 3-2 victory over Elk County Catholic, rolling by Arianna Gurosick in first singles 6-0, 6-1. Romanosky bounced back with a second singles win over Jolene Rippey in a third set tiebreaker 6-2, 4-6, 7-6.
Mueller and Warner earned a forfeit victory in second doubles to secure the win.
Elk County Catholic claimed a win in third singles with Lana Elmquist defeating Fitzsimmons 6-0, 6-0. Then in first doubles the team of Ava Carl and Bella Dixon defeated Stewart and Carroll 7-5, 6-4.
