RUSSELL -- The Eisenhower boy’s soccer team scored early and often last night as they defeated Saegertown in a non-region game at home 7-2.
Eisenhower's Easton Fitzgerald scored the game's first goal just three minutes into the game and the Knights were off and running.
Mason Degnan had a hat trick for the Knights, all in the first half, and Rever Caudill added a pair of goals as Eisenhower built a 6-0 halftime lead over the visiting Panthers.
"It was important to get a quick start," Eisenhower head coach Mike Taylor said. "We knew that Saegertown would give us a fight and to their credit, they battled the entire game. I am happy for the boys, it was nice to see Michael Rutsky get his first career goal in the win. Hopefully, we can build off this as we head deeper into our region schedule."
Rutsky added the Knights' only goal in the second half when he scored with 17:26 remaining in the game and Eisenhower cruised to the 7-2 win.
