Knights bow to Fairview 44-14

RUSSELL -- Eisenhower suffered it second straight loss Friday night, falling to visiting Fairview 44-14 in its Region 3 opener.
The combination of Fairview's Cullen O' Conner who completed 11 of 18 passes for 242 yards and a touchdown, and Caden Oldach, who rushed for 153 yards on 13 carries and three TDs, was too much for the Knights to overcome.
The Tigers (1-1, 1-0) led 6-0 after the first quarter when O'Conner scored on a 5-yard run and they never looked back, adding two TDs and a two-point conversion to take a 22-0 advantage into intermission.
After the break Fairview needed just 92 seconds to add to its lead when Oldach scored on a 20-yard run. Eisenhower (0-2, 0-1) got on the board midway through the third quarter when Nolan Gesing scored from the 6. Chase Card made the first of his two PAT kicks to cut the lead to 30-7.
However, the Braves found the end zone again on an Oldach run and also scored again in the fourth quarter.
Gesing found paydirt on a 20-yard run in the second half for his second touchdown of the game.
