TITUSVILLE -- The Eisenhower Knights opened their 2026 campaign at the Rocket Invitational on Saturday at the Ed Myers Complex.

"By the end of the third week of official practice, the kids are ready to start racing, although we had quite a few athletes feeling under the weather this past week," reported Eisenhower head coach Darlene Beach. "This invitational is a good opportunity to see some of the other teams in our region, and run on the District 10 Championship course. We had several athletes run their personal best times for this meet."

Freshman Josie Elms recorded the lowest time for the Knights with a 22:26 pace, good for 41st place out of 171 total runners. Just 31 seconds behind at 22:57 was Isabella Grosch who ended in 53rd place. Haley Ferrie (25:42, 98th), and Addyson Britt (29:57, 141st) rounded out the Knights squad.

In the varsity boys action, Parker McBride paced the Knights (11th out of 22 teams) with an 18:28 time, good for 45th overall individual finish out of 218 runners. Mason Britt was next to cross the finish line at 18:44 and a 55th place finish. In 75th place was Alex Lund (19:23) followed by Brice Ludwick's 19:32 time and a 78th finish. The final three Knights were Joseph Fanelli (19:43, 84th), Cameron Lindell (19:58, 94th) and Dylan Shaffer (26:34, 207th).

In the junior high race, Kaylee Ferrino's time of 11:17 was the 17th best out of 109 total runners. Not far behind was Evelina Carlson at 26th place, followed by Naveen Mead at 34th, and Lillian Ishman finishing 35th overall.

The Eisenhower middle school had four runners compete, with Zachary Ayers (48th) and Grant Criswell (49th) racing to the line to finish just 1 second apart from each other. Seventh-graders Andrew Grosch (91st) and Derek Leach (111th) ran hard and represented the Knights well.

The Knights compete again Saturday when they travel to Bemus Point Golf Course to compete in the Red Dragon Invitational hosted by Maple Grove.
