RUSSELL -- The Eisenhower Knights battled all game Monday, but dropped their Region 4 boys soccer opener 4-0 to Iroquois.

In a very physical game, the Knights were aggressive on both sides of the ball and with crisp passing moved up and down the field, but while they had numerous shots on goal, they were unable to find the back of the net.

With both teams playing sound defense, the Braves' Camden Armbruster was able to get a successful shot at the 24-minute mark to open up a 1-0 lead.

The Braves increased their lead to 2-0 right before intermission on a goal by Messiah Scott.

The Knights kept the Braves in check until the 15-minute mark of the second half when Nicholas Pribyshchuk scored. Iroquois added a late goal by Scott.

The Braves improved to 3-1 overall and 1-0 in Region 4 play while the Knights fell to 1-3-1 and 0-1 in Region 4.

Eisenhower is back in action at home Wednesday against Titusville for a 4 p.m. game.

Starting at /week.
