Impressive victory

Warren shuts out Bradford 3-0

By NATE SANDBERG 2 min read

The Warren High boys soccer team is back in the win column after an impressive 3-0 victory over the Bradford Owls on Saturday afternoon at War Memorial Field.

The Dragons controlled both ends of the field, had crisp passes, and were able to capitalize on their offensive opportunities. Head coach Steffen Blair was complimentary regarding his players stating, "I thought it was a good team effort. Reilly (Morgan) has been dominant for us all year, and today was another example of that. He was so consistent and calm in possession, and did a great job setting the pace of the game."

Grant Newton scored twice for the Dragons, assisted by Mason Warner and Trey Carringon. Carrington scored the other goal, assisted by Ashton Carrington.

"Mason (Warner) was also impressive," Blair added. "There was a lot of space out wide, and he did a good job taking advantage of it. Whether it was in open play or through set pieces, his final service was excellent, and he created a lot of chances."

The Dragons improve to 2-4 on the season. They look to keep the momentum going Monday as they host Oil City at War Memorial Field at 6:30 p.m. for a varsity-only contest.
