Hendricks takes 4th for Warren boys

EDINBORO -- The Warren boys golf team was on the road Tuesday at Culbertson Hills for their fourth Region 6 mega match of the season.

"Overnight rain made for a very soggy course," said head coach Nate Sandberg. "We were able to take advantage of lift-clean-place everywhere, and came out with our best team score of the season so far."

Hayden Hendricks paced the Dragons with a score of 77, followed by an 80 from Michael Palmieri. Also competing for the Dragons were Xander Russell at 83, Gavin Haibach 86 and Presley Weldon coming in at 88.

"I think we just needed the first two matches to settle in. We are trending upwards and hope to continue that moving forward," Sandberg said.

The Dragons will take two teams to compete in the Corry Invitational on Thursday, and have just two Region 6 mega matches before their regular season is over.

"This is crunch time," Sandberg said. "The picture for who will qualify for individual districts is becoming clearer, so these last two mega matches are crucial to keeping the season alive."
