Knights girls beat Sharpsville, boys lose at Sharon

It was a split for the Eisenhower soccer teams Thursday as the boys lost 2-1 on the road at Sharon while the girls won 2-0 at home against Sharpsville.
In boys action, Rever Caudill scored the only Eisenhower goal.
"It was a tough game all around," Eisenhower head coach Mike Taylor said. "I thought that Rever, Keaton Destro and Ryan Huck played well in the loss."
For the girls, who raised their season record to 3-0 in the 2-0 shutout win, it was a game for the goal keepers.
Eisenhower's Rosalie Rondeau put her team up early as she scored just 30 seconds into the game on a nice pass from Kierra Cressley to give the Knights the 1-0 lead.
Eisenhower held tight to its 1-0 lead through halftime.
The second half was a mirror of the first as Eisenhower goalkeeper Kylie Guiher did not allow a ball to get by her.
With Sharpsville attacking the Eisenhower net with no luck, it was the Knights' Hannah Lund who took a pass from Mackenna Boozer and scored at the 12-minute mark to give the Knights a 2-0 lead, which held for the final score.
"I thought we played well as a team," Eisenhower head coach Ashley Elms said. "Amelia Smyth and Abby Jukes had strong games on defense. It was good to see our defense step up. We didn't shoot very well even though we outshot them on goal, we just couldn't get it past the Sharpsville goalkeeper.
The girls are back in action Saturday morning at home against Conneaut Area High School. Start time is set for 10:30 a.m.
