CORRY -- The Eisenhower Knights got into the win column Monday night on the road with a 2-1 win over Corry in a nonregion boys soccer contest.
Eisenhower's Mason Degnan gave the Knights the early lead at the 28:16 mark on a shot dead center just below the top of the net. Assisting on the play was Rever Caudill.
The Knights took their 1-0 lead into halftime.
Corry's Connor Jackson knotted the score at 1-1 at the 29:28-minute mark when he connected with a header off of a corner kick by Lain McGeary.
Not to be outdone, Degnan would also connect on a header off of a corner kick to give Eisenhower the lead back with just over 10 minutes remaining in the game.
The game was a defensive battle as neither goalkeeper allowed a goal the rest of the game, as the Knights held on for the 2-1 victory.
"Our boys just gave great effort against a well-organized and hard-fighting Corry team," Eisenhower head coach Mike Taylor said. "I have to give a shoutout to Mason (Degnan) for his two goals, Rever Caudill for his hustle throughout the game and to Keaton Destro for an outstanding defensive game."
Eisenhower is back in action today when it travels to Hadley to take on Commodore Perry for a 4 p.m. game.
