Eisenhower boys claim cross country win

CORRY -- The Eisenhower Knights varsity boys cross country team picked up a win in its first Region 4 meet of the season Tueday, and Izzy Grosch earned her first career varsity win.
The varsity boys were paced by Parker McBride's (18:40) third-place finish. The Knights would take the next four spots to defeat the Beavers 25-32. Mason Britt (19:12), Alex Lund (19:16), Joseph Fanelli (19:30) and Cameron Lindell (19:45) rounded out the team scoring for Eisenhower.
Grosch's impressive time of 23:09 was more than four minutes faster than teammate Haley Ferrie, who earned a second-place finish with a time of 27:35. Addyson Britt (29:50) came in sixth place for the Knights.
The junior high boys fell to the Beavers 15-50. Zach Ayers won the race with a 10:30 time. Teammate Grant Criswell took fifth place with a 11:39, and Andrew Grosch placed ninth with a 12:33.
In junior high girls action, the Knights ran well and were victorious by a 15-50 margin. Kaylee Ferino (11:21) earned a runner-up finish, Evelina Carlson (11:48) was third, Lillian Ishman (11:53) was fourth, Naveen Mead (11:56) was fifth and Lexis Wolfer (14:36) was seventh.
