Sandberg, Pellegrino, Bacchetti claim CVCC Championships

Nate Sandberg, Tony Pellegrino and Andrew Bacchetti claimed club championships at Conewango Valley Country Club over the weekend.
Sandberg, who shot 1-over par 70-73-143, edged Nick Giambrone in a sudden-death playoff for the Championship Flight title. Giambrone opened with a 6-under 65 on the first day, but Sandberg chipped away, forced a playoff and won after two extra holes. Luke Minsky finished third at 2-over par.
In the Senior Flight, Pellegrino edged Jerry Bancroft by two shots. Tied heading into the final day, Pellegrino held off longtime friend Bancroft for the victory, firing a two-day score of 152.
Bacchetti won the First Flight, shooting a pair of 84s. Todd Grubbs also recorded a hole-in-one on the 16th hole.
