The Eisenhower Knights scrimmaged Maplewood in Russell on Saturday. "It was a good scrimmage for us as a lot of our younger players got the opportunity to get in good reps against a very physical Maplewood team," Eisenhower head coach Jim Penley said. Unofficially, Knights senior quarterback Joe Gigliotti went 9 of 15 for 129 yards and a touchdown while senior running back Nolan Gesing had 76 yards rushing and three catches for 55 yards and a touchdown. Junior Ollie Boozer had four receptions for 64 yards. "We found some things that need to be worked on and that is the most important thing that a scrimmage exposes," Penley said. "We have a week to get ready for our opener on the road against longtime rival Iroquois." Above left, Eisenhower fullback Collin Havers collides with a Maplewood defender.
