Golf leagues

RUSSELL — Leighton Swanson and Art Stewart both shot a 35 to share low-gross honors, and Curt Briggs recorded a 26 to claim the low net in the Senior Men’s League at Cable Hollow Golf Course.

John Bowler and Pete Hofert had two birdies apiece; Swanson and Stewart had the most pars with seven; and Randy Lawson is the season points leader with 21.

Following are the Group 1 standings: Mike’s Townline 64.5; Olde Duffers 63.0; Warren Tire 61; Maple Place Farms 57.0; Litehouse Auto 56.5; Cable Hollow 55.0; and Huber Paving 55.0.

Mary Beth Whiting and Debbie Backhus shot a 43 gross to lead the Monday Night Ladies league at Jackson Valley Golf Course.

Julie Moyer and Lisa Irwin were second with a 46.

Net leaders were Tracey Richard and Katie Penley, and Julie Champion and Julie Lacki, both with a 34.

Mark Silvis shot a 39, and Jeff McClement and Dick Merenick both fired a 40 to lead the gross scores in the Park Avenue Motorcar Men’s Senior League at Blueberry Hill.

Rusty Zigler paced the net scores with a 29, followed by Gene Covell with a 29.

Jack Hellman, Dennis Stewart, Bryan Moldovan, Jamie Mohney, Paul Wood and Kevin Hartley all had birdies.

LAKEWOOD, N.Y. — Tim Sandberg shot a 39 for low gross and Bob Yucha registered a 33 for low net to highlight results from the Youngsville Senior Golf League.

Other gross scores were Doug Wheeler 40 and Rod Korbar.

Other low net scores were Al Ludwick 34, Al Kuzminski 34, William Kowk 35 and Gary VanGuilder 35.

Jim California recorded two birdies, and Ward, Korbar, Yucha, Sandberg, Wheeler Ludwick, Kowk and VanGuilder had one each

Behind the pitching of Evelyn Romanasky, SKF downed Chase Auction/Jaime Nuhfer 17-0 in the Junior League.
