Beaty seeking middle school track records
Submitted photo Warren Beaty Middle School’s Nina Woldt recently set program records in the 1,600 meters and 3,200 meters.
Breaking any sort of athletic record is always an amazing accomplishment, especially in the vast sports history that Warren County possesses. When a school record is broken, it almost always triggers some sort of conversation amongst past student-athletes, coaches and parents where a typical response is “Maybe I have a record somewhere,” or “I know for a fact I did better than this.”
Recently, Warren Beaty Middle School’s own Nina Woldt won first place in both the 1,600 meters and 3,200 meters at the prestigious Altoona Middle School Championship. Her times of 5:28.76 in the 1,600 and 11:54.28 in the 3,200 are school records. This was no fluke, as Woldt was a dominant force in the cross-country circuit this past fall, and has no plans to slow down anytime soon.
With Woldt going into the Beaty record books, it begs the question, “What are the other Beaty Middle track and field records?” The records exist, however, there are concerns these are the true records. Head coach Jinelle Salvatore and athletic director Joe Errett are looking for anyone that may be able to dispute these records. They are requesting anyone with documented proof to contact Joe Errett at errettj@wcsdpa.org and screen shot or attach their documentation to prove the time or distance needs to be updated.
