Eisenhower boys claim Coudersport title
COUDERSPORT — The rain didn’t slow down the Eisenhower boys track team as they took first place at the Coudersport Invitational on Friday.
The boys totaled 124.5 points to take first place while the girls team garnered 44 points to take eighth out of the 13 teams participating.
Joe Gigliotti and Chase Myers earned first-place finishes for the Knights.
Gigliotti won the 3,200 meters in 10:22.49 while Myers won the 110-meter hurdles in 15.59 seconds and the 300-meter hurdles in 42.20 seconds.
Eisenhower’s Myers, Bryceton Wilkins, Easton Fitzgerald and Gigliotti also won the 1,600-meter relay in 3:41.09, a time that qualified them for the District 10 championships.
Fitzgerald was second in the 200 meters and 400 meters; Gigliotti was second in the 1,600 meters; Wilkins was second in the 110-meter hurdles; and Ethan Beers was second in the long jump and triple jump.
Alex VanGelder was third in the discus; Fitzgerald was third in the 100 meters; Wilkins was third in the 300-meter hurdles; Ollie Boozer was third in the triple jump; and Alex VanGelder was third in the discus.
Additionally, Boozer was fourth in the long jump, Wilkins was fifth in the 100 meters, Ryan Huck was fifth in the javelin and Jan Emanuel Unida tied for sixth in the pole vault.
Laney Belcher was the top finisher for the girls, taking first in the 800 meters with a time of 2:31.98.
Rosalie Rondeau was second in the long jump and triple jump.
Riley Robinault was fourth in the high jump and Hialeah Stanton was fourth in the pole vault.
Rondeau was fifth in the 200 meters and Belcher was fifth in the 400 meters.
Eisenhower’s 1,600-meter relay team of Lainey Font, Rondeau, Belcher and Timber Barr was fourth; the Knights’ 3,200-meter relay team of Izzy Grosch, Sawyer Fields, Font and Belcher was fourth; and Eisenhower’s 400-meter relay team of Grace Martin, Font, Barr and Fields was sixth.
