LAKEVIEW — The Eisenhower Lady Knights traveled to Lakeview and lost in a walk off as the Sailors were able to push a run across the plate for the 8-7 victory on Wednesday..

Eisenhower jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the top of the first when Hailey Gray singled in a run.

The Lady Knights would add to their lead with runs in the fourth and fifth inning to take a 3-1 lead. The Sailors tied the game at 3-3 in the fifth inning.

Eisenhower had a big sixth inning when it added four runs to the lead on singles by Abbie Darr, Kendra Danielson and Peyton Kirby, going up 7-3.

Unfortunately that lead was short lived as the Sailors scored four of their own led by an error and singles from Gracie Harbaugh and Peyton Sereday.

After a scoreless seventh inning, Sereday hit a single to drive in the winning run to defeat the Lady Knights 8-7.

The Lady Knights out hit Lakeview 13-12 and were led by Gray who went 4 for 5 and drove in one run. Nakita Nelson went 3 for 4 with an RBI. Danielson and Kirby each had a pair of RBIs in the loss.

Eisenhower head coach Neal Kent was happy with his team’s hitting and knows his team is improving every game.

“The girls played well in the loss,” Kent added. “We hit the ball really well, we just have to stop giving up the extra outs defensively.”

In jayvee action, the Lady Knights defeated the Sailors 14-5. Eisenhower was led by Shelby Rhodes who got her first start in the circle. Addie McDonald had a two run single, Caitlyn Pikna and Sophia DePasquale each had a double in the win.
