Warren’s wrestling season comes to end
The Warren boys wrestling team ended its season Saturday at the Western AAA Regional at Canon-McMillan High School.
“The kids wrestled hard,” reported head coach Koltyn Eason. “I look forward to what next year will bring. We’re not satisfied, and hope to continue to grow!”
As coach Eason predicted last week, this regional may be the best in Pennsylvania, and that appeared to be true over the weekend. Representing the Dragons were Tanner Stuart, Ryan Letko, Carter Campbell and Dru Abbey.
Stuart dropped his opening match 7-2 versus Brayden Sidney (Hollidaysburg), then fell to Evan Schomburg 10-1 (North Allegheny). Ryan Letko lost via technical fall to Andrew Gall (Bellefonte), but had a 47-second pin in the first consolation round against Shannon Jackson (Obama Academy). Letko’s season ended against Jordan Rutan (Punxsutawney) in the second consolation round.
Campbell dropped his two matches against Noah Curren (Norwin) and Derek Worstell (Upper St. Clair). Dru Abbey would follow suit, dropping matches to Landon Krupka (Hollidaysburg) and Kameron McFarland (McDowell).
