Steinberg to play in Big 30 game

Eisenhower’s Clara Steinberg has committed to play in the Big 30 girls basketball game on March 22. Steinberg is the first player form Eisenhower, boys or girls, to be selected for participation in the Big 30 game and the first from Warren County since Sammie Ruhlman and Halle Kuzminski.

Clara Steinberg, senior basketball player for the Eisenhower High School Lady Knights has been named to the 2026, 11th annual Big 30 Senior Girls Basketball Classic Pennsylvania team.

The 5-8 shooting guard is the first Eisenhower basketball player, boys or girls, to be named to a Big 30 basketball team. She joins 2004 players Sammie Ruhlman and Halle Kuzminski as the only Warren County players chosen.

Steinberg, who has signed with Penn West California to continue her academic and basketball career, had a stellar four years playing for the Lady Knights, highlighted by becoming the Warren County girls all-time leading scorer with 1,874 career points.

Steinberg averaged 21.5 points per game and has proven herself proficient beyond the 3-point shooting arc; she connected on 218 three pointers over her four years as a starter for Eisenhower. Over her career she averaged 4.0 assists per game, 6.6 rebounds, 3.2 steals and 1.5 blocks per game.

The Big 30 basketball classic will tip off at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 22, at Portville High School, 500 Elm Street, Portville, N.Y.
