MEADVILLE — The Warren boys wrestling team had a successful weekend at the annual District 10 Wrestling Championships. The Dragons had three wrestlers win their respective weight classes and become District 10 3A champions — Hayden Holden (139 pounds), Carter Campbell (152 pounds), and Tyson Harkins (285 pounds).
They will move on and compete at the next step this weekend- a subregional tournament featuring District 9 and 10 schools, hosted at Clarion University. The top 3 qualifiers in each weight class will move on to the 3A Western Regional at Canon-McMillan High School. Also moving on to the subregional were Tanner Stuart (2nd place, 121 pounds), Sebastian Oyola (2nd place, 172 pounds), Nick Freehling (3rd, 107 pounds), Ayden Dean (3rd, 127 pounds), Cameron Hagg (3rd, 133 pounds), and Travis Childress (3rd, 160 pounds).
Coach Eason discussed the preparation and steps he and the kids are taking to get ready for the weekend, “We will really study film and have the kids watch their matches to dissect and nitpick any mistakes and positives that happened. These kids know what it takes to win and they are willing to put in the time and work. Doing this will prepare them for this weekend and future tournaments. Being the director at KWC (Kinzua Wrestling Club) we are fortunate enough to have the facilities we do and utilize them to our benefit.”
In addition to the kids’ success, Warren head wrestling coach Koltyn Eason was named the 2025-26 District 10 coach of the year. “I am very humbled,” reported Eason. “I didn’t expect it, and I am extremely grateful for the honor. There are a lot of good coaches in the district, and I feel it is good reinforcement for the kids to think we are doing the right things. My goal is to get the kids to fall in love with the sport of wrestling like I have.”
