RUSSELL — It was Senior Night on Friday and in front of a packed gym, the Eisenhower Knights did not disappoint.
Using a balanced scoring attack, Eisenhower beat Union City 74-52 in Region 3 boys basketball.
Knights senior Gavin Lindemuth started the scoring with a nice inside shot off the glass and his team never looked back.
Eisenhower raced out to a 21-11 first-quarter lead behind 3-pointers by Liam Hanson, Kymani Vine and senior Derek Guiher.
The Knights had seven different players score in the second quarter to increase their lead to 50-27 at the half.
Eisenhower got five 3-pointers in the third quarter, including three from Guiher to force the mercy rule as the home team led 69-27 heading into the fourth quarter.
Eisenhower now sits alone in first place in Region 3 with only one league game remaining.
“We got great effort from our three seniors tonight,” Eisenhower head coach Ryan Mangini said. “I was happy they all scored. We will miss each of them, they have set a great example for our younger players.”
