Eisenhower boys rally past Brookville 63-60

BROOKVILLE — The Eisenhower boys basketball team made the long trip to Brookville to face the Raiders in a nonregion game Wednesday.

While Brookville gave the Knights a scare, Eisenhower would defeat the Raiders 63-60.

The home team jumped out to a 19-10 first-quarter lead and a 33-27 halftime lead before the Knights started to rally.

Eisenhower used a 14-point third quarter, including 3-pointers by Austin Hanson and Derek Guiher, to chip away at Brookville’s lead. The Knights trailed 44-41 at the start of the fourth quarter.

Eisenhower would outscore Brookville 22-16 in the final quarter, thanks in part to 7-of-8 shooting from the foul line.

“We showed some toughness down the stretch on one of our worst shooting nights of the season,” Eisenhower head coach Ryan Mangini said. “It is good to get some games like this late in the season.”

Eisenhower was led by Hanson, who took high game scoring honors with 24 points. The Knights improved their overall record to 17-3 on the season.

Eisenhower closes out its regular season Friday night at home against Erie Prep Academy.
