Dragons drop last game of regular season

CORRY — The Warren boys basketball team ended its regular-season campaign with a defeat to a tough Corry Beavers squad Friday.

The Beavers came out and played aggressive defense, getting their revenge from earlier in the season, defeating the Dragons 55-37.

“We didn’t shoot the ball well from the start,” said Warren head coach Jeff Berdine. “Our make percentage from deep was poor. We had a lot of open looks, we didn’t make any, and we didn’t stop shooting them.”

A below-average defensive performance mixed with a solid Beavers showing on offense meant the Dragons struggled to gain ground on the home team.

“They shot the ball well and did a great job limiting us to one shot,” Berdine said. “We gave up 35 points in the first half which is pretty poor for us from where we have been at times this year defensively.”

Logan Crissey was the lone Dragon in double digits with 11 points. Jacob McMeans scored 8, and Allen Eaton and Lucas Thrift each had 7.

The Beavers had three scorers in double digits with Landon Deane at 16, Nick Scouten 13 and Kamdyn Moon 10.

The Warren junior varsity squad was led by another outstanding performance from freshman Jackson Clark, who scored 20 points en route to the 50-36 victory over the Beavers.

The Dragons now await their District 10 playoff seed and opponent as they are to be released today.

Starting at $3.50/week.
