On Monday, there were two meets at The Goat Fort in Warren.

The elementary division featured the Kinzua Vet Clinic Bulls vs. the Sunrise Collaborative Eagles. And for middle school, the Whirley Tornadoes took on The Train Station Outlaws.

For the elementary contest, both the Eagles and the Bulls were putting up good numbers from the start, and the lead switched back and forth several times. Sunrise Collaborative’s Isaac Myler (24.3 3BA) and Eliza Hellman (22.8 3BA) put up big numbers. It wasn’t until the final period that Kinzua Vet Clinic surged ahead, led by Freya Heath, Elle Kedding and Logan Woldt who all had a 25.5 3-Boulder Average. In the end, the Bulls came out on top 403-340.

For the middle school climbers, it was a real nail-biter. Both teams were topping hard boulders. Whirley’s Wesley Hornstrom (29.8 3BA), Silas Hecei (27.8 3BA) and Avery Woldt (27.5 3BA) kept The Train Station team on their heels. The Outlaws kept fighting, but each time they’d get close the Tornadoes would surge ahead again. In the final period, the Outlaws — led by Razzlin Pratz (32.5 3BA), Harrison Cathcart (28.8 3BA) and Finley LaVigne (28.8 3BA) — jumped ahead by 2 points only to be passed moments later by another top from the Tornados. This didn’t discourage the Outlaws, and it was rookie, Lottie Curtis, who secured a top late in the final period to push her team past the Whirley Tornadoes for good. The final score: Outlaws 484-477.

Climbers are back in action next Monday, with the Sunrise Collaborative Eagles vs. the undefeated Stonehill Chocolates Cocoa Bombs, and the Valley Tool & Die Bears vs. the undefeated Train Station Outlaws.

Starting at $3.50/week.
