The Warren Unified bocce team ended its season Monday when they competed in the District 10 playoffs at General McLane High School.
The Dragons lost in the first round to Fort LeBoeuf 4-8, but rebounded nicely to earn a 9-2 victory over Iroquois.
“Overall we had a strong performance today,” said head coach Cayla Onoratti. “We came in as the sixth seed and ended up fifth in the tournament. We were hesitant during game one with some initial nerves, but came back strong with a big win versus Iroquois. We fell short of a chance at regions, but are pleased with how our season finished. These kids have grown immensely this season, and have set the bar high moving forward.”
Despite the season ending, this is not the end of Unified sports for Warren as this is the first year they are implementing a new track and field team in the spring.
