Warren unified bocce competes in Corry

The Warren unified bocce team was on the road Thursday as they took on the Corry Beavers.

In the contest, the Dragons had two teams compete as did the Beavers. Warren 1 won both their matches, defeating Corry 1 by a score of 8-7, and Corry 2 by a 3-point margin of 5-2. “Warren 1 had an unbelievable comeback in game 1,” said head coach Cayla Onoratti. “After being down 7-1 going into the sixth frame, they worked their way back scoring 4 points in frame six and 3 points in frame seven. Jacob Elmquist had the game-winning roll.”

Warren 2 split with both of the Corry teams. They were victorious over Corry 2 winning 14-1 but fell to Corry 1 by a score of 3-9.

“Team 2 scored an impressive 14 points in the first game, which is a season and team record for Warren bocce,” added Onoratti.

“Both teams played some incredible bocce today. These kids have been working hard at practice and it is paying off this season,” said Onoratti. “We have one big game left on Tuesday when we head to Maplewood. We hope to pack the gym for Senior Night for the 3:30 p.m. game.”

Starting at $3.50/week.
