Warren County girls wrestling takes 2nd at Queen of the Dam

The Warren County girls wrestling team continues to make waves on the mat this season. They competed in the annual Queen of the Dam Tournament at Dubois Area High School on Saturday, and came home with an impressive runner-up finish in the 18-team event. The Lady Dragons covered the podium with place finishers. Winning their respective weight classes were Kaylee Cyphert (106) and Abbie Darr (190). Also competing well and finishing 2nd place were Karolina Martinelli (100), Jenna Kophazy (118), and Nakita Nelson (136). As a team, the Dragons earned 151.0 points, where the tournament champions Shikellamy (Northumberland County, PA) finished with three winners, two runner-ups and two third-place finishers, good for 208.0 points.

Also representing the Dragons were Bryn Lindell and Madisyn Flores, who each finished 4th place in their weight class, earning crucial points toward the team finish, just edging Williamsport (130.0).

In the junior high division, McKenzie Hodak continued her strong season, finishing first place in her respective weight class. Also competing well was Maci Hodak, earning a runner-up finish for her class.
