Warren County girls top Bradford 51-12

BRADFORD — The Warren County girls wrestling team took care of business Thursday when they traveled to Bradford in a 51-12 victory over the Owls.

In the five matches contested, the Dragons won four of them with Kaylee Cyphert, Emily Wiles and Allisun Woodin winning via pinfall, and Jenna Kophazy defeating her opponent via decision.

“Tonight was a team effort despite some forfeits,” said head coach Glenn Baldensperger. “These dual matches are a good test to see where we stand. We gotta have the girls show up and build on that from one match to the next.”

Baldensperger was proud of his team’s performance, especially sophomore Karolina Martinelli, who has been under the weather.

“Karolina made the trip today and gave us a tight match even though she wasn’t feeling well,” he said. “I am proud of the effort she gave despite battling sickness.”

The girls are on the road next Tuesday for a 7 p.m.dual meet against the General McLane Lancers, then they have the individual District 10 competition for which to prepare.
