Many Little Knight and Little Eagle wrestlers once again set out across the area over the weekend seeking competition.
Their search took them to Edinboro, Warren and Falconer over the course of the weekend. Some wrestlers doubled up on the competition, competing both Saturday and Sunday.
In Edinboro, a contingent of Little Eagles wrestlers made the drive to General McLane Middle School for the annual Odd Age Tournament.
Of the contingent to make the journey, four came home with hardware.
Kinsley Dean earned her second tournament title in as many weekends as she claimed first place in her weight class with a pin and a 17-1 technical fall.
Maci Hodak placed second in her weight class with a pin over Wattsburg’s Kasidee Winkler.
Kendall Mosher claimed third place in her weight class. She picked up two quick pins on the day.
Fourth place went to Kole Renwick. Renwick overcame an early loss and won by pin in back-to-back matches before falling in the consolation finals.
Also competing for the Little Eagles were Evan Sullivan and Silas Howell.
In Warren, action was split across two sessions with the novice wrestlers competing in the morning and the open tournament being held in the afternoon.
In the morning session, a large number of Little Knights won their respective weight classes.
First-place finishers for the Little Knights were Asher Olmstead, Chase Rowland, Jack White, Jaxon Moore, Connor Bennett, Lily Barnes, Maddox Blair and Hayden Vik.
Second-place finishers were Lincoln Phelps, Bentley Bennett, and Rowyn Haight.
Third-place finishers were Cole Sullivan and Killian Porter.
Fourth-place finishers were Flint Hastings, Grayson Wachter, Lawson Beedle and Raiden Moore.
In the afternoon session, the Little Knights saw additional success.
Placing second were Wade Fithian, Temperance Fargo, Connor Ash and Zain Woodburn.
Placing third were Gavin Dyke, Bryer King, Hayden Jackson, Blake Genung, Clayton Dyke, Evan Wilcox and Leyton Curtis.
On Sunday in Falconer, a mix of Little Eagles and Little Knights wrestlers made the short trip up to Falconer High School.
Placing first were Wade Fithian and Evan Wilcox.
Placing third were Kinsley Dean and Autumn Waite.
Placing fourth were Gavin Dyke, Connor Ash, and Zain Woodburn.
