Youngsville and Eisenhower’s youth wrestlers took advantage of the weekend to branch out and find some competition.
On Saturday in Kane, both the Eagles and Knights sent a large number of wrestlers to the Wolves Den Rumble.
Each team saw a good amount of success and showed the promise of a bright future ahead for Eisenhower program.
Placing second for the Knights were Connor Ash, Evan Wilcox, Grayson Kitchel, Jack White, Leyton Curtis, Max Blair and Wade Fithian.
Placing third were Bryer King, Gavin Dyke, Hayden Jackson and Zain Woodburn.

Placing fourth were Calvin Weldon, Carl Marcy and Haden Vik.
Placing second for the Eagles was Levi Eger.
Placing third were Brian Riel, Evan Sullivan, Jack Lane, Kole Renwick and Sam Hagg.
On Sunday, a select number of Eisenhower and Youngsville wrestlers made the journey up to Erie’s Bayfront Convention Center for the Battle on the Bay Open.
The Knights and Eagles found more success as they encountered yet more stiff competition. Overall, the two combined for two champions in Kinsley Dean and Johnathan Sullivan.

Dean picked up four wins on the day, two by decision and two by pin. Sullivan posted three pins with his highlight victory coming over Port Allegany’s returning state medalist Cooper Bliss. Sullivan racked up a huge 14-2 lead before securing the pin at the 3:54 mark.
Two wrestlers finished in second place, Autumn Waite and Leeland Brown. Waite was mostly dominant throughout the day, posting a 15-0 technical fall and a pin. Her only loss came against Redbank Valley’s Blake Brothers.
Placing fourth for the Knights were Owen Ash and Hunter Vanderhoof.
Vanderhoof battled back from a loss in his second match to reach the consolation finals where he fell to Rambler Landon Baker by 6-0 decision.
Ash too battled his way back from an early loss to reach the consolation finals. Ash lost by fall to Isaiah Payne of Boardman, Ohio then earned a first period pin over Port Allegany’s Connor Mantz in the consolation semifinals. In the consolation finals, Ash battled well, but fell by 7-2 decision to Cathedral Prep’s Wyatt Levy.
