Ike girls bow to Wildcats

Presser-Palmer nets 30 for Northwestern

ALBION — Northwestern’s Makayla Presser-Palmer, a University of Arizona commit, became Erie County’s all-time leading scorer during a 30-point night as the Wildcats beat Eisenhower 51-39 in nonregion girls basketball Monday.

“Clara (Steinberg) did a nice job in the first half holding her to 10 points, but we really had no answer for her in the second half,” Eisenhower head coach DJ Steinberg said of Presser-Palmer. “She is just a very talented ball player.”

Eisenhower was down three at the end of one quarter of play 13-10 and was able to play the Wildcats even in the second quarter as the home team led 21-18 at halftime.

But Northwestern opened up its lead by outscoring Eisenhower in the second half 30-21.

Lainey Font led Eisenhower with 20 points, Steinberg chipped in 8 and Riley Robinault added 6.

Eisenhower saw its record drop to 6-3 while the Wildcats improved to 7-3.

Eisenhower is back in action Thursday when Iroquois travels to Russell to play the Knights in a region game.
