Warren Youth Climbing league holds season opener

Benjamin Curtis

The Warren Youth Climbing League had its season opener Jan. 19.

This year, the league consists of three separate divisions. Two in the winter (Elementary and Middle School) and a new one for more advanced climbers (Junior Varsity) in the spring.

For the elementary division it was the Allegheny Aggregate Wolves vs. the Sunrise Collaborative Eagles. The Allegheny Aggregate Wolves are by far the newest team, with all of their climbers in their rookie season. On the flip side, the Sunrise Collaborative Eagles have an even mix of new and experienced climbers. It was an exciting match and the lead switched several times. In the end, a standout performance by Isaac Myler was the difference and the Eagles came out on top 285-258.

Individual climbers 3-Boulder Average follows:

Eagles: Isaac Myler 26.8, Caleb Hellman 17.8, Logan Philhower 17.3, Eliza Hellman 16.7, and Lincoln Myers 16.3
