The Eisenhower wrestling team played host to the Union City Bears on Wednesday and “took care of business,” according to head coach Jared Lindell, en route to a 49-21 victory. The Knights’ Lane Morrison opened with a 9-1 major decision at 107 pounds; Jacob Battko (114) lost 11-8 in overtime to David Domingo Ashton; and the Bears’ Van Ward (121) pinned Eisenhower’s Mason Williams, but Eisenhower took over after that, winning seven of the next eight matches, highlighted by pins by Shaw Miller, Caleb Shaffer, Wyatt Neill (above right) and Bryceton Wilkins (above left). “I felt the guys wrestled well tonight,” Lindell said. “I was pleased with our aggressiveness. We still have some things to clean up, but I thought it was a nice win to start the season.”
