The Warren girls golf team boasted yet another solid season headlined by performances from district qualifiers Kate Shippee and Elissa Errett. Their impressive seasons earned themselves District 10 Class 3A all-star honors.
Shippee, a junior, was honored with her first career First-Team selection and third overall all-star selection. Errett, a senior, earned her second consecutive Second-Team selection.
“Kate had a fantastic season as she crushed her 2024 season scoring average of 95.2 to an impressive 79.75, finishing fifth overall with finishes as high as third, along with three fourth-place finishes. She realized one of her goals by making it to the second day of districts, ultimately placing fifth,” Coach Scott Pearson said. “Kate has become a complete golfer as she can score well despite errant shots. I am looking forward to another year to see her elevate her game even more.”
Errett finished her career with a solid season as she fared very well at many events. She won the Last Chance Qualifier to earn a bid at the district championships, outlasting 18 other competitors. She finished 10th at the District 10 Class 3A event, and had numerous other solid finishes throughout the year.
“Elissa was able to improve her 18-hole region scoring average by 24.6 strokes since her sophomore year,” Pearson said. “She has been an integral part of the development and success of the girls’ golf team, and she will be greatly missed.
“Both Kate and Elissa are very deserving of their all-star selections as not only are they very good golfers, but they are great kids as well,” Pearson added.
