The Warren girls soccer team held its senior night on Thursday and it posted an 8-1 win over Franklin at War Memorial Field.
In a game that seniors Alicia Collins, Kaylee Cyphert, Lilly Stanley, Meea Irwin and Leyna Irwin were honored, Meea Irwin found the back of the net on five occasions, with sister Leyna scoring once. Lani Wenzel added a goal and Cyphert scored on a penalty kick.
Assists were recorded by Cyphert with three, Leyna Irwin with two and Meea Irwin had one.
“It was nice to honor our seniors,” Warren head coach Mark Ordiway said. “They are an extremely hard working and dedicated group of girls. These five have been super committed to soccer over the years. They each play soccer all year, including winter leagues and spring club soccer. What I like the most is how competitive they are in practice. Playing at a high level in practice makes everyone on the team rise up.”
The Dragons are back at home on Saturday when they host Cambridge Springs for a 12:30 p.m. varsity kickoff at War Memorial Field. This will be the second game in the Dragon Soccer doubleheader, as the boys host Girard at 10 a.m.
