MEADVILLE — The District 10 Individual Golf Championships began Tuesday at Meadville Country Club.
Beginning the first day of the two-day event to determine which golfer will advance to the PIAA State Championships, Warren’s Kate Shippee has herself in contention.
Needing a top-six score to advance to the second round, Shippee fired an 88 which was good enough to earn a tie for fourth place on the day.
Shippee’s driver was on point, but numerous missed putts kept her from the low-80s. Shippee improved her round-one score from last year’s competition by almost 20 shots.
Warren was also represented by Elissa Errett, who saw her senior season come to an end today as she was not in one of the top-six spots.
Fort LeBoeuf’s Cassidy Conn fired a 76 and is leading by 9 shots.
The competition will resume at 9:30 a.m. Saturday.
