RUSSELL — The Eisenhower boys soccer team sent its seniors out with a win Wednesday, defeating Port Allegany 4-2 on Senior Night.
The Knights jumped out quickly as senior Bryceton Wilkins found the back of the net just 52 seconds into the game. They added another goal two minutes later when Mason Degnan connected on a kick just inside the right post to increase the knight’s lead to 2-0.
The Gators’ Alex Schutt tallied the only goals for the visitors, the first coming at the 30-minute mark and his second just two minutes later to knot the score at 2-2.
Eisenhower’s Logan Degnan recorded his first goal with 14 minutes left in the first half to give the Knights a 3-2 lead which they carried into halftime.
Both teams played tough defense throughout the second half, with Degnan scoring his second goal of the game and the only one after the break.

“It was a great send-off for the seniors, Bryceton Wilkins, Derek Guiher, Jayce Lang, Logan Dougherty, JE Unida and Mike Milner,” Knights head coach Mike Taylor said. “They have each added a lot to the team and the program and will be sorely missed. I thought Mason Degnan and Rever Caudill both played well and showed the future is bright for the program.”
Eisenhower finishes the regular season with a 6-11 record and will wait to see if it has shown enough to get a playoff invite.
