Dragons escape Meadville with 2-1 victory
MEADVILLE — The Warren boys soccer team traveled to Meadville on Tuesday to take on the Bulldogs and won a back-and-forth battle 2-1.
The first half saw all the scoring as Warren’s goals were by Jack Chapman (assisted by Quinn Norris), and Trey Carrington (assisted by Gabe Dougherty).
Steals leaders for the Dragons were Quinn Norris with 26, Luc Wilkins with15, Bryce Grolemund with 15 and Reilly Morgan with 15.
“It’s always a playoff atmosphere when we play them,” Dragons head coach Steffen Blair said. “It wasn’t our cleanest game, but it was great for the boys to show we’re capable of winning in multiple ways. Our defense came up huge for us again, and that’s what it’s going to take the closer we get to the postseason.”
Adon Maier had a good night and recorded seven saves in goal for Warren.
The Dragons’ junior varsity lost 2-1.
Warren hosts Oil City at 6 p.m. Thursday at War Memorial Field.
