Clemente returns kickoff for TD in Warren loss
OIL CITY — Warren fell to the one-loss Oil City 61-7 in Region 6 football Friday.
Warren’s lone touchdown came off a second-quarter kickoff return when senior Tomasso Clemente took it 83 yards down field for the score. Kicker Charlie Blum drilled the extra point.
Unfortunately for the Dragons, this was the highlight of the night as the Oilers were dominant on both sides of the ball, including 467 total offensive yards.
Despite the loss, Warren played tough until the end and won various small battles throughout the game. They have many things to build on as the season continues, and there were some positives on the outing as well.
Freshman quarterback Parker Kiser threw 10 times on the night, completing five passes for 75 yards. Aiden Egger managed a 23-yard, Austin Fiscus had two catches for 31 yards and Zack Barnes reeled in two catches for 21 yards.
The Dragons fell to 1-7 on the season. They will try to bounce back as they host the Meadville Bulldogs next Friday for a 7 p.m. kickoff at War Memorial Field.
