Ike girls post 3-1 victory over Cambridge Springs

RUSSELL — Eisenhower got back in the win column Wednesday with a 3-1 Region 3 girls soccer win over Cambridge Springs.
With both teams playing strong defense, Eisenhower’s Grace Martin scored the game’s first goal on a direct kick with 15:20 remaining in the first half.
With Eisenhower clinging to a 1-0 lead, Cambridge Springs’ Addie Orosz would knot the score at 1-1 12 minutes into the second half.
Eisenhower’s Samantha Childs would give her team back the lead just four minutes later on a kick to the middle of the net to make it 2-1.
The Knights played an aggressive defensive game to thwart the Blue Devils’ attempts to score.
Childs would score her second goal of the game and give Eisenhower some breathing room with just 1:09 remaining to make the score 3-1.
Eisenhower improved to 4-2 in Region 3.
