Warren volleyball sweeps Cathedral Prep
ERIE — The Warren girls volleyball team traveled to Cathedral Prep on Tuesday and swept the Ramblers 25-23, 25-25, 25-22.
Head coach Mike Dolan reported that, “Varsity gutted out another win,” Dragons head coach Mike Dolan said. “We made plays when we needed to in the back row. Our (defensive specialists) stepped up. Paiden Johnson had a nice game serving and on defense, as well as Lauren Fajbik’s passing, and Addison Ristau serving.”
Added Warren junior Brynn Norris, “I think our hitting and serving went well. This victory means great things for the season because we pulled through against a great team and learned that even when things are not going well, we can keep our heads up and keep going. Our team is doing very well, but we still need to be more consistent.”
Statistically, Madelyn Nosel collected seven kills, 16 digs and three blocks; Norris had 23 assists and three aces; Malysia Sorensen registered15 digs; Attie Corey had five kills; and Johnson contributed eight digs and three aces.
Warren’s junior varsity also defeated Cathedral Prep, 13-25, 25-14, 14-10
Following the Dragons statistical leaders: Peyton Cabisca 13 assists, 14 digs, two aces; Maddy Snell six digs; Tia French four digs; Lara Pearson five kills, four aces; Hailey Cabisca six kills; Kendall Skerda four aces; Adelaide Keeports two kills; and Michaela Dolan four digs.
The Dragons are back in action Thursday when they travel to Fort LeBouef to take on a tough Bison squad for a 6 p.m. junior varsity, 7:15 p.m. varsity doubleheader.

DRAGONS FALL
EDINBORO — The Warren boys soccer team traveled to General McLane and suffered a 6-0 setback Tuesday.
“We have to give them a lot of credit,” Dragons head coach Steffen Blair said. “That’s a very talented team that causes a lot of matchup problems. We had some flashes offensively, and were still able to create some good chances, but nothing is going to matter until we tighten things up as a team defensively. We have a very motivated, resilient group and we’re excited to have the opportunity to improve and respond on Thursday.”
The statistical leaders for Warren were Quinn Norris with 23 steals, Bryce Grolemund with 16 and Timmy Giger with 15 in support of keeper Adon Maier, who recorded 15 saves.
In the junior varsity game, the Dragons and Lancers played to a 0-0 tie.
Warren will be back in action when it entertains Meadville at 6 p.m. Thursday at War Memorial Field.
KNIGHTS BOW TO
MERCYHURST PREP
ERIE — The Eisenhower boys soccer team suffered a 6-2 loss at Mercyhurst Prep.
The Knights were led by senior Bryceton Wilkins, who both goals.
“We had a rough first half,” Eisenhower head coach Mike Taylor said. “Once we settled down, we played them pretty tough. I’m proud of our effort tonight. We just need to put two strong halves together and we’ll be alright. I thought Rever Caudill and Mason Degnan and, obviously, Bryceton played well for us tonight.”
