Warren rolls Meadville in girls soccer
MEADVILLE — Strong performances on offense and defense allowed Warren to beat Meadville 6-1 in Region 6 girls soccer Wednesday.
“Our offense put a lot of pressure on Meadville tonight,” Warren head coach Mark Ordiway said. “Meea had a hat trick and also distributed the ball very well. We had a lot of scoring chances and earned multiple corner kicks in each half.”
Meea Irwin led the Dragons in scoring with three goals while Leyna Irwin, Lani Wenzel and Ava Wymer each had one. Meea Irwin had two assists while Leyna Irwin and Wymer each had one.
“Our defense was strong as well,” Ordiway said. “They were able to clean up everything back there. Lilly Stanley had a great game at center back. Traci Abplanalp had a tough matchup on her side of the field but she was always in the right spot and very efficient with her play.”
Warren improved to 2-0 in region play. The Dragons’ next match is on Saturday when they host Dubois for an 11 a.m. varsity kickoff at War Memorial Field.
